Headache Rescue 101

If you suffer from chronic headaches, you probably feel quite frustrated. You can put an end to most headaches if you can determine what is causing them and how to make the appropriate environmental changes.

You get headaches when the muscles in veins laying just on top of your skull begin to swell. Those sensitive nerves shout an alarm to the brain, telling you in no uncertain terms that they do not like this swelling. You experience this message as a headache.

Most headaches are related to tension. Tension headaches feel like a boa constrictor has wrapped itself around your head and given you a big squeeze. Usually tension headaches are concentrated either on the upper neck and across the back of the head, or in a swarth across your forehead. Menstruation, dehydration, noise, exhaustion, sugary foods, and stress are all triggers for this kind of headache. You can usually cope with a tension headache by lying down, getting a massage, using a cold compress, or simply getting away from the source of stress.

Another common headache is the sinus headache. Sinus headaches usually feel like pressure across your forehead or in pockets in your face. For quick relief, try applying gentle pressure to your sinuses, standing in a closed bathroom with a hot shower running, removing mucus from your sinuses, and drinking hot tea or coffee.

One of the worst kinds of headaches is the migraine. Migraines are so intense that they often cause nausea, vomiting, the seeing of stars, unbearable pain, feeling faint, and the inability to handle light, strong smells, or any kind of noise. You can beat a migraine by lying down in a dark, quiet place and sleeping it off.

If a headache is accompanied by high fever, convulsions, loss of muscle control, or the inability to communicate clearly and cohesively, you will want to visit the emergency room to rule out meningitis, stroke, or encephalitis.

Most headaches are not severe and can be controlled by dietary or environmental adjustments. Hopefully a couple analgesics (like ibuprofen) and a nap will set you feeling right again. However, you will want to take precautions if you can't get rid of a headache easily or if they recur.

Two studies have shown that the green coffee bean extract found in some Hydroxycut products promotes weight loss. Svetol, the green coffee extract used in Hydroxycut products, is found in Hydroxycut Hardcore, Hydroxycut Hardcore Elite, and Hydroxycut Acai.In a study funded by Iovate in 2010, 45 participants took Svetol while 45 got a placebo. All 90 participants ate a reduced-calorie diet and performed moderate exercise over the eight weeks. The result: Those who took Svetol lost an average of 3.7 pounds, compared to 1.25 pounds for those who got a placebo, according to the company.
